Financial experts to advise parents in free online chat series
TORONTO, June 14, 2016 /CNW/ - Top financial advice doesn't normally come cheap. On Thursday June 16th, it happens to be free as award-winning entrepreneur Teresa Cascioli takes on all questions in an online financial forum aimed at families. Cascioli was CEO of Lakeport Brewing during its phenomenal turnaround and is the author of M is for Money, a series of books promoting financial literacy to children.
"I'm the eldest daughter of Italian immigrants and I learned the value of money at a very young age as I watched my parents work hard to make a new life in Canada," says Cascioli. "My parents talked to me about how difficult it was to earn a living, and when faced with competing priorities for their hard-earned money, hard decisions had to be made. I'll be available to talk directly with parents on any financial topic, or to answer questions about teaching financial literacy to their kids."
The Q&A with Cascioli is the kick-off to Know More Money! a series of online events aiming to connect families with Canada's top financial experts and helping them to become more informed consumers. The series is sponsored by SmartSAVER, a non-profit program that helps parents to start Registered Education Savings Plans and access the Canada Learning Bond for their children at no cost.
Participants are invited to log in to the event for free at knowmoremoney.ca on Thursday, June 16th at 7 PM ET.
