HandyDART employees to vote on Friday
VANCOUVER, Oct. 28 /CNW/ - MVT Canadian Bus has presented a comprehensive wage and benefit package directly to HandyDART employees for their consideration and ratification on Friday, October 30.
"HandyDART employees need to know that our final offer is just that - a final offer that is fair and reasonable, especially given these tough economic times," said John Siragusa, Vice-President of Operations. "We are offering a wage increase, significant RRSP contributions, and a comprehensive benefits package covering medical, health and welfare, extended health, and employee assistance along with guaranteed hours of pay."
"We have a great deal of respect for all of our employees who provide a valuable service to our customers. From day one, our goal has been to reach a fair and reasonable collective agreement," said Siragusa. "It's now up to our employees to carefully consider our offer and cast their vote on Friday."
MVT believes this is a fair offer that addresses all of the issues discussed at the negotiating table. Ratification of the offer will resume full service to customers who are unable to use public transit without assistance, including many seniors, the seriously ill and persons with cognitive or physical disabilities.
HandyDART customers are encouraged to visit www.mvtcanada.com or call 604-575-6600 for up-to-date information on service levels.
