PRINCE GEORGE, BC, Feb. 17, 2014 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada has provided $38,225 in funding through the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund that will allow the Prince George Regional Art Gallery Association to purchase and install new specialized storage racks at the Two Rivers Gallery.
Dick Harris, Member of Parliament (Cariboo-Prince George), announced this support today on behalf of Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages Shelly Glover.
The new equipment, which will be used to securely store two-dimensional artworks, will triple the Gallery's current vertical storage capacity and safeguard pieces for future exhibition.
- The Two Rivers Gallery, which opened in July 2000, is operated by the Prince George Regional Art Gallery Association.
- The Gallery maintains an extensive collection of visual art, particularly art that showcases the central interior of British Columbia and life in northwestern Canada.
- The Gallery also offers public and school tours, artist talks, family programming, and art classes for all ages. It also participates in a community outreach program that brings exhibits and programs to remote communities in the province.
