Acknowledgment recognizes long-standing commitment to workplace innovation
TORONTO, April 26, 2018 /CNW/ - EY has been named one of the Best Workplaces in 2018 by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. The award recognizes top organizations that successfully foster trust, pride and camaraderie among employees, resulting in an exceptional internal culture that produces business results. This acknowledgement – to 27th position – is the latest ranking in the EY legacy of building an innovative, people-driven organization.
"We're humbled to once again be named as one of the Best Workplaces in Canada," says Stephen Shea, EY Canada Managing Partner, Talent. "This award is a testament to all of the talented employees who make our workplace better, and further supports our mandate to create an exceptional EY experience for our people that lasts a lifetime."
EY has a long history of workplace innovation – from re-imagining the physical work space to spearheading new programs to better support its teams – which has helped it build a legacy as a global network of top talent. At its core, the EY commitment to building a better working world has been made possible by fostering a culture of inclusiveness, development and engagement.
"Attracting and retaining top talent is critical to maintain a competitive advantage, and we need to be responsive to the needs of our people," says Trent Henry, EY Canada Chairman and CEO. "The future of work, guided in large part by advances in technology, is constantly shaping the employer-employee relationship, and we strive to embrace these changes."
EY continuously evolves its workplace strategy. Initiatives recently introduced include:
- GigNow – The contingent workforce is growing every day and, to tap into this immense talent pool, EY recently unveiled the GigNow program to develop its own network of gig workers to meet business demands.
- EY Badges – This global program was designed to encourage EY people to shape their careers and prepare themselves for the future by becoming better equipped with the digital skills needed to serve the changing business landscape. Employees earn digital badges for each level of learning attained.
- LEAD – A new global approach to performance management and career development, LEAD leverages technology and uses real-time feedback to provide employees with the coaching they need to grow and, ultimately, provide exceptional client service.
"Embracing disruption and evolving our workforce, and the culture around them, is crucial to maintaining a competitive position as an employer of choice today – and tomorrow," says Shea.
