STE-LAMBERT-DE-LAUZON, QC, Jan. 26, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Following the tragic fire that occurred at Isle-Verte, Province of Quebec, the Saint-Lawrence Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers offer its sincere sympathies to the families that have suffered losses and is available to share the expertise and knowledge of its members in fire protection.
Our organization is appointed as spokesperson Mr. Paul Lhotsky, engineer and Ph. D., fire protection specialist, is available for interviews in French and in English. Other members are also available.
The Saint-Lawrence Chapter has many members, all specialists in the field of fire safety. The Association organizes annually various seminars and activities. Recently, a seminar on the application of fire risk evaluation was held in Longueuil at which participated many engineers and specialists. For more information see www.sfpe-st-lawrence-quebec.com.
The fire protection engineers use a full set of tools in their practices such as numerical modelling to simulate egress evacuation of building when a fire occurred.
The Saint-Lawrence Chapter is active in the development of scientific and technical aspects relating to fire prevention and protection as well as related risks.
The Saint-Lawrence Chapter is part of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (www.sfpe.org) and has been present in the Province of Quebec fort almost 65 years. It was the first chapter to be formed outside of the United States of America; since dozens of chapters has been formed trough out the world and gather engineers and other professionals of the fire protection field.
