THUNDER BAY, ON, Oct. 15, 2026 /CNW/ -- Errington Metals Corp. (TSXV: EM) (OTCQX: ERRMF) ("Errington" or the "Company") is pleased to report initial drill results from the 1500 Zone at the Errington Deposit. The limited program successfully tested gaps within the existing resource wireframe, intersected high-grade polymetallic mineralization and provided new structural information to support targeting for the Company's Phase 2 drill campaign.

"These initial results, which were drilled outside of the optimized stopes in our mineral resource, demonstrate the high-grade potential of the 1500 Zone and reinforce our view that meaningful opportunities remain within and beyond the current model," said Matthew Gollat, President and CEO of Errington Metals. "The combination of strong copper, zinc and silver grades, limited historical drilling and untested extensions gives us a compelling target for Phase 2 drilling. Downhole geophysics and follow-up drilling will help us refine the structural model and systematically test the zone's growth potential."
The 1500 Zone is interpreted as a fault-displaced portion of the Errington Deposit. It occurs at depth without a known surface expression, and its up-dip extent remains largely untested (Figure 1). Seven holes were drilled to test gaps within the historical mineralized envelope and begin evaluating extensions along strike and down dip. Drilling into one significant gap intersected high-grade copper mineralization consisting of chalcopyrite stringers cutting massive pyrite-sphalerite mineralization (Figures 2 and 4), with elevated silver associated with the copper-rich interval (Table 1). EME-26-116 was drilled to test the interpreted down-dip continuation of these intersections. The hole encountered pyrrhotite mineralization and several small faults however, the current interpretation suggests that it may have terminated before reaching the projected target. Assays for hole EME-26-116 are still pending.
Background Geology
The 1500 Zone contains copper, zinc, gold, silver and lead grades comparable to those of the main Errington Deposit and is interpreted as an extension along the Vermilion horizon. The Christie Fault is interpreted to extend eastward from Errington Main toward the 1500 Zone; however, additional faults are expected and have not yet been sufficiently mapped. This structural complexity limits the current understanding of how the mineralized centres across the entire Errington Deposit are related to one another up dip, down dip and along an easterly plunge. Copper and zinc mineralization also occurs at surface nearby and may represent a fault-displaced repetition of the 1500 Zone sequence, potentially forming part of a separate mineralized centre.
Historical drilling at the 1500 Zone is limited. The zone has been modelled as two areas: a copper-enriched western portion and an eastern portion, with the western mineralization interpreted as a separate continuous zone. Drill spacing remains relatively wide, and portions of the interpreted mineralized envelope lie outside the optimized shapes used to report the 2026 mineral resource estimate (Figure 3). Further drilling and modelling are required to determine whether additional mineral resources can be defined in these areas. In addition, historical holes east of the 1500 Zone intersected massive sulphide mineralization that has not been followed up.
The 1500 Zone forms part of the Errington deposit mineral resource estimate, effective September 20, 2026. The Company announced that estimate in its September 22, 2026 news release titled "Errington Metals Announces Maiden Mineral Resource Estimate for the Sudbury Basin Project."
The Company plans to complete downhole electromagnetic surveys in accessible drill holes at the 1500 Zone to identify conductive responses that may indicate off-hole sulphide mineralization. Survey results and the updated structural interpretation will help guide follow-up drilling during Phase 2. Drilling will be required to determine the source, extent and grade of any mineralization associated with these responses.

Note: Reported intervals are downhole lengths. True widths have not been estimated but are within 70-100% of the drill width based on the drill hole design and downhole deviation surveys. Reported grades are weighted average composites directly from the sample lengths and assay results.

Assay results from other holes drilled at 1500 Zone are pending.
Future Plans
The Company has initiated its Phase 2 drill campaign of approximately 55,000 m with initial drilling focused on testing the extensions of the Vermilion deposit and some infill drilling to continue to improve the resource model. The program will expand to test target areas identified in the Errington and Balfour mineral resource models and to further understand their expansion potential. Regional targets based on geological and geophysical data interpretation have been identified and will also be tested. Further drilling to collect a bulk sample at Errington will be conducted this fall in preparation for a mini-pilot metallurgical study next year.

QA/QC Procedures
Core samples are collected and handled using standard industry protocols. Sampling, core-cutting and submission to the assay lab were conducted and supervised by Errington Metals personnel. Samples were submitted to Activation Laboratories Ltd. (Actlabs) in North Bay, Ontario. Actlabs is accredited to the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) Requirements and Guidance for the Accreditation of Testing Laboratories, specific to mineral, forensic and environmental testing laboratories. Analyses are completed in Ancaster, Ontario which holds facility-specific laboratory accreditation and the analytical scope applicable to the reported results. Samples were also submitted to MSALABS in Timmins, Ontario for preparation. Analyses by MSALABS are completed in Langley, British Columbia which holds facility-specific laboratory accreditation and the analytical scope applicable to the reported results.
Sample preparation and analytical procedures used for the reported results are described below. Preparation includes crushing, pulverizing then digestion using a four-acid solution and analysed using a combination of ICP-MS and ICP-AES methods. Gold is independently analysed using a 30 g sample by fire assay methods. Certified reference material standards and blanks were inserted into the sample stream and internal standards and blanks were concurrently analysed by the lab. Assay certificates are issued by the laboratory responsible for each analysis. All assay results have been further verified by Errington Metals.
