American Chemistry Council recognizes innovative, clean technology company for pioneering technology
WASHINGTON, Nov. 14, 2013 /CNW/ - Entropex, a market leader in plastics recycling, was presented with the 2013 Innovation in Plastics Recycling Award from the American Chemistry Council at its annual gala in Washington tonight.
The event honours outstanding North American companies that develop new technologies, products and initiatives using post-consumer recycled plastics. Entropex was recognized for its pioneering technology, and its positive influence in the plastics recycling market.
"We are grateful and humbled to receive this prestigious award from the American Chemistry Council," said Entropex President Keith Bechard. "At Entropex, we pride ourselves on innovation that expands the industry, creates jobs and addresses the public interest in mixed-rigid plastics. We greatly appreciate the recognition of the ACC."
A Entropex has successfully developed IP, and commercialized the RigidReclaim™ process integrating plastics sorting, cleaning, processing and upgrading for mixed-rigid post-consumer plastics.
The commercialization of RigidReclaim has generated remarkable results -- recovering 55,000 tons of plastic that would otherwise end up in a landfill each year. It also addresses the public need to recover non-bottle rigid plastics, and provides a new stream of recycle resin for the American and Canadian industry.
The resins recovered by Entropex are intended for use in US consumer products and packaging. The company has been able to displace prime resin applications with highly pure HDPE, PP, PET, and other recycle resins.
