Enforcement Notice - Hearing - IIROC to Set Hearing Date for Calgary Investment Advisor Michael Francis O'Brien Français
CALGARY, March 7, 2019 /CNW/ - An appearance has been scheduled before a Hearing Panel of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) for the purpose of setting a date for the disciplinary hearing in the matter of Michael Francis O'Brien.
The discipline hearing concerns allegations that Mr. O'Brien borrowed a significant amount of money from an elderly client without his employer's knowledge or approval. It is also alleged that he misled his client's bank and IIROC staff during their investigation.
IIROC formally initiated the investigation into Mr. O'Brien's conduct in January 2018. The alleged violations occurred while he was a Registered Representative with the Calgary branch of RBC Dominion Securities Inc., an IIROC-regulated firm. Mr. O'Brien is currently a Registered Representative at the Calgary branch of Raymond James Ltd., an IIROC-regulated firm.
The set date appearance is open to the public, unless the Hearing Panel orders otherwise. The date for the discipline hearing will be made available at www.iiroc.ca.
