Endless Love: Victoria Named the Most Romantic City in Canada for the Third Year in a Row
Victoria keeps their love on top as locals hold their three-year reign as the Most Romantic City in Canada
Ontario dominates with seven cities in the top 20 while British Columbia follows closely with six cities in the top rankings
SEATTLE, Feb. 4, 2015 /CNW/ - Victoria has been struck by cupid's arrow once again, taking the top spot as the Most Romantic City in Canada, as announced today by Amazon.ca. This sixth annual ranking by Amazon.ca was compiled by comparing sales data from January 1, 2014 to January 1, 2015 on a per capita basis in cities with more than 80,000 residents based on purchases that included romance novels and relationships books (Kindle books and print books), romantic comedies, a collection of romantic tunes from crooners like Michael Bublé and Barry White. And new to this year's ranking, are jewelry and sexual wellness categories.

A closer look at the data, revealed:
- Victoria has that Red Hot Love: Not only did Victoria take the number one spot overall, but they were feeling romantic all year long. The city ranked highest in all categories, purchasing the most romance novels and relationship books, romantic comedy DVDs, romantic CDs, jewelry and sexual wellness products.
- The Wild Wild West: New to this year's ranking, data from Amazon.ca's sexual wellness store was used to compile the top 20 list. The west coast dominated in this category, taking three of the top four spots, with Victoria on top, followed by Waterloo, North Vancouver and Vancouver.
- Waterloo's Higher Love: Romance was definitely in the air in Waterloo as the city jumped from No. 19 to No. 3 year-over-year. This Ontario city showed love across all categories, ranking No. 2 in the sexual wellness and romantic comedy categories overall. Other notable increases in this year's rankings are Calgary, rising from No. 15 to No. 5 and Kingston, rising from No. 17 to No. 7.
- North Vancouver Takes Things Slow: North Vancouver had a steady increase this year, rising three spots to No. 2 overall. Residents were feeling the love on their playlists and reading lists, as the city took the No. 2 spot in both the music and books categories. Victoria might have some competition.
- Accessorize My Love: Jewelry was another new category added to compile the top 20 list this year and residents in Victoria, Barrie, North Vancouver, Lethbridge and Calgary shimmered through, taking the top five spots.
