VANCOUVER, Feb. 9, 2019 /CNW/ - Designer Eleni Anthony is the talk of the city as she presents her captivating new collection at Vancouver Fashion Week (VFW) for the F/W 2019 Season. The featured brand is an emerging designer showcasing her inaugural ready-to-wear collection.
Vancouver Fashion Week is the fastest growing fashion week in the world and the only industry event that actively seeks out to showcase international award winning designers from over 25 global fashion capitals. Since its inception 18 years ago, VFW has operated with a firm belief in being a well-grounded local initiative with global instincts and intuition.
"At Vancouver Fashion Week, diversity really is our greatest strength. We bring together the most incredible design talent from across Canada and around the world, presenting the most forward-thinking creative concepts to the industry. Fashion is a truly global phenomenon and it's so inspiring to see such a strong mix of designers all under one roof here in Vancouver," says Jamal Abdourahman, producer and founder of Vancouver Fashion Week.
Obsidian Night is a ready-to-wear collection inspired by the striking structure and lines of architecture, modern art and high fashion. While it is an all-black collection, Obsidian Night incorporates various textures to create interest and movement - this line is anything but basic black. Faux fur, vegan leather, sequins, pleated texture, jersey and various cottons complete the collection. These designs are for the modern woman who demands sexy sophistication and won't settle for anything less.
"It is such an honour to present Obsidian Night on the global stage at VFW F/W 2019," says Eleni. "This collection sparks interest through different materials in the garments. Wearers will feel sophisticated and sexy, yet will appreciate the many mix-and-match options given to them by the monochrome colour pallette."

Eleni's collection is the product of countless of hours of work during her time in design school. Blossoming from an idea and a sketch to a completed garment, Eleni designed and constructed all aspects from concept to completion. Graduating from the Visual College of Art and Design of Vancouver (VCAD) one week after she presents at VFW, she is clearly ready to launch her fashion career.
