Election Results Impact on Canadians' Interest in US Real Estate
TORONTO, Nov. 7, 2012 /CNW/ - MMD Realty, LLC, the leading South Florida real estate firm led by Michelle Farber Ross, and Pro Football player Hall of Fame quarterback and CBS sports analyst, Dan Marino, are hedging their bets that the US real estate markets will continue to trend upwards, in light of the election results. In an effort to educate Canadians about the current market, MMD Realty is teaming up with Greenspoon Marder, a full-service, Florida-based business law firm of 31 years, to present valuable information about the current state of the Florida real estate market; exposing truths about short sales and foreclosures and guiding Canadians on how to invest, negotiate and provision their Florida property.
The MMD Realty team, joined by Greenspoon Marder, will be visiting downtown Toronto on Tuesday, November 13th and Markham on Wednesday, November 14th in an effort to educate Canadians about the current South Florida market. Ross' seminars will cover current market conditions including inventory, pricing, second homes and investment, while Greenspoon Marder will explain the different title and immigration and visa options.
"Following last year's seminars in Canada, we felt it important to revisit the region and shed light on the state of the South Florida market today," says Managing Partner, Michelle Ross, whose clientele is made up largely in part by Canadians, both from Ontario and Quebec. "Our team works closely with Canadians, as one of the partners is from Toronto, and we are confident that we give our clients the best education while being protected throughout the transaction. There are some very specific provisions that need to be made for Canadians and we make sure to guide them every step of the way."
In the months following the seminars last year, Ross and her team closed several deals with Canadians and are continuing to manage the investments and properties purchased. "The time is right for Canadians to purchase properties in South Florida: the dollar is strong, the properties are well-priced and the rental market is strong, if the Canadian buyers choose to rent out their properties," explains Ross. "The local press is constantly reporting that the market is beginning to turn around, with inventory levels lower and prices stabilizing. Canadians are feeling that the time is now, while it is still a buyer's market."
Greenspoon Marder, which has 10 offices located throughout Florida, also has extensive experience with cross-border transactions and other matters. The firm's practice is concentrated in the areas of commercial and residential real estate acquisitions and development; timeshare and fractional ownership development; resorts; community association law; zoning and land use; banking and real estate finance; public finance; commercial litigation; corporate securities; corporate tax and transactions; healthcare law; foreclosure and bankruptcy; labor and employment; immigration; international law; tax, estate, probate and elder law; international tax; life settlement; disability insurance and insurance policy issues; family law; sports and entertainment; personal injury; equine law; regulatory compliance and defense.
