TORONTO, June 22, 2017 /CNW/ - Educators Financial Group Inc., the manager of the Educators North American Diversified Fund, announced today that a special meeting of the unitholders of the Fund would be held on September 15, 2017. The purpose of the meeting is to consider a change to the fundamental investment objective of the Fund, which would effectively convert the Fund from a mutual fund investing in Canada and the United States equity securities, to a fund investing primarily in United States equity securities. In conjunction with this transition, if approved, the Fund's investment strategies would change, as would the name of the Fund—becoming the Educators U.S. Equity Fund.
The manager is also considering a change to the Fund's portfolio adviser if the change in investment objective is approved. Educators Financial Group anticipates making a further announcement in this regard shortly.
Unitholders of record on July 17, 2017, will be entitled to receive notice of the special meeting and will be provided with a form of proxy and information circular, to be mailed out on or about July 28, 2017.
