MONCTON, NB, May 9, 2013 /CNW/ - Thanks to the generous support of Lafarge Eastern Canada, Earth Rangers will be visiting schools in Moncton this month to inspire children to help Bring Back the Wild. Lafarge Eastern Canada has pledged $25,000 to help expand the Earth Rangers School Outreach Program which features live Animal Ambassadors demonstrating their amazing natural behaviors, inspiring students to learn more about animals and their habitats.
Earth Rangers is the kids' conservation organization, dedicated to educating children and families about biodiversity and inspiring them to become directly involved in protecting animals and their habitats. "Earth Rangers is committed to sharing our conservation message with as many kids as possible and we plan to visit 550 schools across Canada during this school year," says Peter Kendall, Executive Director of Earth Rangers. "Our partnership with Lafarge Canada allows us to expand our program to Atlantic Canada, where we'll deliver our School Outreach Program to students in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick."
Presented as a full school assembly, the program focuses on natural science, Canadian biodiversity and conservation. Earth Rangers presenters, along with help from the Animal Ambassadors, share the stories of four, unique Canadian species to inspire students to take action. In addition to the school presentation, students can visit EarthRangers.com, register to become Earth Rangers and start their own Bring Back the Wild campaigns.
"Lafarge is committed to building better cities and communities. Being an active partner where we live, work and raise our families is an important part of our values," says Alex Kennedy, General Manager, Atlantic Canada, Lafarge Canada. "The Earth Rangers School Outreach program is a great initiative that will enable students and their families to learn and understand more about our local wildlife and habitat."
