Duke Pubs Celebrate George Brown College Chowder Contest Winners!

TORONTO, Nov. 1 /CNW/ - This month the Duke Pubs are showcasing the winners of the George Brown College Chowder Contest.

Students from George Brown College's Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts competed in a chowder contest. Each student had to create their chowder on a limited budget and the recipe had to include an Alexander Keith's beer as an ingredient. The top three chowders were chosen on Wednesday, October 21 by a panel of judges at the George Brown College restaurant, The Chefs' House.

During November, the six Duke Pub locations will highlight the top three chefs and feature their winning chowders on the menu.

    1st Place: Devin Shanks
    2nd Place: Hyun Jung Kim
    3rd Place: Loretta Paulmert

Prizes will be presented to the winners on Wednesday, November 25 at the
George Brown College Alumni Lunch at the Duke of Westminster. Tickets are $10
and include samples of the top three chowders plus a Keith's sampling.
