CALGARY, May 17, 2019 /CNW/ - Drizzle Honey, Canada's completely raw, bee-friendly honey brand, is thrilled to announce they have received the Startup Canada Social Enterprise of the Year Award, Prairies Region. The award was one of ten which were announced in Edmonton last night during the Startup Canada Awards Ceremony.
"Thank you to Startup Canada for recognizing Drizzle Honey for the Social Enterprise Award," said Aja Horsley, Founder of Drizzle Honey. "We are truly honoured to receive such an important award, especially in a category that is so near and dear to us – social and sustainability initiatives. Achieving this would not have been possible without the support of Canadian consumers who care about Drizzle's values."
Drizzle proudly sources its honey from apiaries across Canada while supporting local farms and beekeepers. Founded in 2014 by environmental scientist-turned entrepreneur, Aja Horsley, the socially conscious brand also raises funds for Pollinator Partnerships, a not-for-profit that is dedicated to protecting and promoting pollinators and their ecosystems.
"Congratulations to the 2019 winners of the Startup Canada Awards," said Victoria Lennox, Co-Founder and President of Startup Canada. "Each and every one of these outstanding recipients have an immense impact on the future of Canada and they all represent the greatness and diversity of our nation's entrepreneurship community. We are proud to celebrate excellence and impact across Canada by recognizing the entrepreneurs, innovators and support ecosystem making it happen."
Regional winners will now be evaluated by the National Adjudication Committee; comprised of some of Canada's leading entrepreneurship and industry experts. The national winners will be announced and celebrated at the Startup Canada Awards Grand Finale in Toronto in October 2019.
