Dream Unlimited Unveils New Commercial and Residential Developments in Town of High River

Community of Montrose and Montrose Plaza construction underway

HIGH RIVER, AB, June 7, 2017 /CNW/ - Dream Unlimited, a premier Canadian real estate company, is proud to continue its commitment to supporting vibrant towns with the reinvigoration of the 200-acre master-planned development of Montrose. Already home to 223 families, 2017 will mark a series of exciting changes for the development with expanded residential and commercial activity as well as the introduction of Dream's housing division, Homes by Dream, to the existing roster of builders.

With the Town of High River's growing population demonstrating continued confidence in the community's viability, the recent multi-million-dollar investments into the downtown core providing unmatched business opportunities and the implementation of an innovative new Land Use Bylaw, it's no wonder Canadian Business Magazine identified High River as being one of the Top 5 Places to do Business in Canada. Dream recognized an opportunity to bring the wider breadth of its expertise and capability to High River while supporting High River's ongoing revitalization.

Homes by Dream's homebuilding operations in High River will commence late spring with the construction of its Montrose show home and the first set of inventory homes released to the field, with plans to work up to an October 2017 show home unveiling. Benefitting from over 60 years of experience building homes in Western Canada, including recent success stories such as the company's foray into the Town of Crossfield, Homes by Dream understands that the quality of the homes built in a community can strengthen it as much as the parks and roads that weave throughout.

"High River is a vibrant, growing community with a great deal to offer people of all stages in their life, from young families to seniors," said Trevor Dickie, VP Calgary Land, Dream Unlimited. "Dream recognizes the potential within the town and is dedicated to building better communities that enhance the wellbeing of residents through a full range of accessible home options and access to essential services. We are excited to be developing Montrose and working with the Town of High River to showcase the possibilities within the community."

Montrose's first stage of reinvigoration will focus on Homes by Dream's new front-drive series of homes, which have been crafted specifically for the High River market. Offering three- and four-bedroom options, front-attached garages, pond-backing walk-outs, and spacious yards, these homes are an ideal option for young families seeking a safe community with access to modern everyday amenities. Available opportunities will include a selection of move-in-ready homes in addition to open lots ready for potential buyers to personalize and build their home to order. The family-focused portfolio will begin at just $369,900, offering an attainable housing option that is highly competitive within the local market and puts High River's premier community within the reach of a much wider audience.

Located within close proximity to town amenities such as quality local schools, nearby High River General Hospital, Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex across the street, as well as numerous walking paths and parks, residents in Montrose will find a lot to love about both the master-planned community and the town at large.

"The community of Montrose is a testament to the Town of High River's continued growth, innovation and confidence," said Mayor Craig Snodgrass. "We are thrilled to be working alongside Dream Unlimited and encourage people to experience the community firsthand. High River has a thriving business community—with more than 20 new operations opening in the last quarter alone—and accessible home prices that are below the national average, making the community an attractive option for young families and entrepreneurs."

Montrose Plaza, located at 12 Avenue and 1 Street, will be expanded throughout 2017, and new retailers are set to open in Spring 2018 alongside the flagship Co-op grocery store that currently anchors the site. There are two phases planned for development on the site, with Phase 1 currently over 80 per cent leased. The development is excited to welcome MR MIKES® SteakhouseCasual, Pet Valu, Panago Pizza, Anytime Fitness and Wendy's in early 2018. Leasing is underway for Phase 2.
