CHÂTEAUGUAY, QC, May 4, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The ministère des Transports du Québec wishes to inform road users that due to the fast progression of work, the Honoré-Mercier Bridge is now completely reopened to traffic.
Work started on Saturday, May 3rd, 3 AM, and was supposed to end on Monday, May 5th, 5 AM.
The Ministère thanks all its partners and road users for their collaboration.
Remind that both westbound lanes of the Honoré-Mercier Bridge will be closed on following dates:
- From Friday, May 9th, 10 PM, to Monday, May 12th, 5 AM;
- From Friday, June 6th, 10 PM, to Monday, June 9th, 5 AM;
During this period, there will be contraflow traffic on the downstream bridge (towards Montreal), with one single lane in each direction.
These lane closures are required for repair work of the structural elements, under the bridge.
These interventions might be postponed or shortened due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression. The Ministère will keep you informed in due time.
Other lane closures might be necessary for such work in the coming months. Efforts are constantly put forward to coordinate these hindrances with other construction sites in the Montreal area.
Remind that the Honoré-Mercier is under both provincial and federal jurisdictions. For more information, take a look at the Ministère des Transports du Québec's (MTQ) web page and at the Jacques Cartier Champlain Bridges Incorporated's (JCCBI) web site.
