Double Olympic champion Alexandre Bilodeau will be Special Olympics Québec's new ambassador Français
MONTREAL, Jan. 12, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - At a press conference which will be held on January 15, 2015 at 4 p.m., double Olympic champion Alexandre Bilodeau will announce his partnership with Special Olympics Québec, a not-for-profit organization, as its ambassador. After leaving his mark on the history of Olympic freestyle skiing, he now wants to be involved in sports in a different way through his association with Special Olympics Québec (OSQ) and as president of the 2016 Québec Games.
The press conference will take place in the John-Molson Room located at 1670 Notre-Dame Street East (corner of Papineau). It will be immediately followed by a tribute to the Special Olympics Québec athletes who have distinguished themselves in 2014. Six recognition awards will be presented. The recognition evening will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature a cocktail reception, speeches and a multimedia presentation.
During the evening, three prestigious awards will be presented in connection with the Partners' Hall of Fame of Special Olympics Québec in recognition of the involvement and outstanding work of some of its most valued members.
In the Sport Celebrity category, the award will be presented to speed skater and Olympic medalist Nathalie Lambert. And in the Police Department Director and Sport Director categories, the awards will be presented respectively to Marc Parent, director of the Police Department of the City of Montreal, and to Pierre Boivin, former president and chief executive officer of the Club de hockey Canadien, the Bell Centre and evenko and current president and chief executive officer of Claridge Inc. Anthony Calvillo and Eugène Lapierre who were named to the Partner's Hall of Fame last year will be present for the unveiling of the pennants.
