CALGARY, Feb. 18, 2015 /CNW/ - Dixie Energy Trust ("Dixie" or the "Trust") filed an application (the "Exemptive Relief Application") on February 18, 2015 with the Alberta Securities Commission, as principal regulator of the Trust, and the British Columbia Securities Commission and the Ontario Securities Commission to cease the Trust as a reporting issuer in each of the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario (the "Jurisdictions"). The filing of the Exemptive Relief Application in each of the Jurisdictions was previously approved by holders ("Unitholders") of trust units of Dixie pursuant to an ordinary resolution at the annual and special meeting of Unitholders held on December 29, 2014.

Following the previously announced sale of all or substantially all of the assets of the Trust (the "Sale Transaction"), the Trust has ceased to have an operating business or any property or assets other than cash proceeds of the Sale Transaction.

Further information regarding the winding-up of the Trust is available on Ernst & Young Inc.'s website, the claims administrator of the Trust, at www.ey.com/ca/dixieenergytrust.
