CALGARY, Alberta, Feb. 3, 2015 /CNW/ -- Dimension Data, the $6.7 billion global ICT services and solutions provider, today announced that Mike Hodder has joined the organization as area sales director in western Canada. Hodder is driving sales strategy and leading the account team in meeting the growing demand for cloud and data center services from organizations throughout the region. In September, Dimension Data launched a Managed Cloud Platform™ (MCP) in Canada, part of its cloud footprint of 12 MCPs worldwide, as well as globally standardized Managed Services for Data Centers.
Hodder brings more than a decade of success delivering IT solutions and services to enterprises in Calgary and across Canada, with specific emphasis on cloud, data center and communications technologies. Prior to Dimension Data, he held senior sales leadership positions with Calgary-based IT solutions provider Mainland Information Systems and high-speed data communications provider ENMAX Envision.
"Since expanding into western Canada from our Mississauga, Ontario headquarters, we've steadily built out strong sales and technical teams to support the increasing enterprise need for cloud and data center services," said Wendy Lucas, area vice president, Dimension Data Canada. "Mike's expertise in these areas, along with his history serving clients in key industries throughout western Canada – including oil and gas, financial services and service providers – will be critical to growing our business and positioning us for continued growth."
In 2012, Dimension Data Canada opened an office in downtown Calgary, with additional resources distributed across the western region. Since that time, it has tripled its sales team in the region and expects to increase its presence by at least 20 percent through 2015. Dimension Data Canada's business has grown 30 percent year-over-year since it first launched operations in the country in 2007, and it will play a key role in the company's goal to triple revenues in the Americas by 2018.
"Dimension Data offers clients an unmatched combination of managed IT services – from our unique consumption-based public and private hybrid cloud platform to data center, enterprise mobility, unified communications and network management," Hodder said. "I'm looking forward to extending the momentum our team has already built, and helping local and multinational organizations in the area take advantage of these capabilities to help fuel their business growth."
Dimension Data's Managed Cloud Platform in Canada helps Canadian organizations meet in-country data requirements, reduce latency through proximity and address data sovereignty concerns by enabling global enterprises to locate data inside Canada. Dimension Data's global MCPs deliver public and private Compute-as-a-Service solutions that provide high-performance, self-service, compute, storage and networking resources. Unlike best effort cloud providers, the MCPs are enterprise-ready, offering multiple layers of security, administrative controls, 99.99% availability SLAs for public cloud, 24/7 phone support and integrated management capabilities.
Dimension Data Canada was ranked number 24 on IT World Canada's 2013 Top 100 IT Solution Providers list – up from number 29 in 2012. In addition, Dimension Data achieved Cisco's Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) Excellence rating – Cisco's highest distinction, based on regular client satisfaction surveys – for the 12th consecutive reporting period.
