Developing young people critical to long-term business success, says EY

Firm named among Canada's Top Employers for Young People

TORONTO, Sept. 24, 2013 /CNW/ - Building diverse teams that span generations is central to providing the best business results, says EY. Today, the firm was named among Canada's Top Employers for Young People.

"Year after year, many talented and ambitious young people choose to start their careers at EY," says Stephen Shea, EY Managing Partner, People. "We're proud to offer an engaging, inclusive and flexible work environment where they contribute their unique skills from day one, and hone their expertise over the long term."

Shea adds that development is at the heart of EY's culture.

"Our people are our most valuable asset," he says. "At EY, providing the development our people need to enrich their career is the foundation of our success. And when they thrive, they deliver the best results for our clients."

EY's global structure is another factor that enables the firm to respond quickly, and deliver consistent quality service, to clients around the world.

"Young people, in particular, find that our unique, globally connected structure provides them with extensive career opportunities," says Shea. "When someone joins EY they become part of a worldwide team committed to thinking and acting globally and working seamlessly across geographic boundaries and industry sectors. That's the EY difference."

As a learning organization, EY annually recruits new hires from university campuses nationwide. The professional services firm is built on an apprenticeship model, and offers a wealth of continuing education, training and mentoring programs to help the next generation expand their resumes and grow their careers.

EY also offers a plethora of corporate responsibility, volunteer, mobility and other opportunities that empower young people to help drive the firm's purpose of building a better working world.
