Defence, Aerospace, Industry and Motorsport: Hydrogen Is Making Its Mark Across Sectors at Hyvolution Canada

The second edition of Hyvolution Canada in Trois-Rivières will showcase emerging and innovative hydrogen applications across a wide range of industries.

TROIS-RIVIÈRES, QC, Sept. 21, 2026 /CNW/ -- Trois-Rivières will host the second edition of Hyvolution Canada on September 29 and 30, organized by Innovation et Développement économique (IDÉ) Trois-Rivières. Decision-makers, industry leaders, investors and experts from Canada and around the world will come together to discuss the technologies and projects currently shaping the hydrogen market.

From Defence to Aerospace

Hydrogen will also be explored through the lens of energy resilience and defence, with discussions focusing on dual-use technologies, autonomous systems and applications in operational environments. Aerospace will also feature prominently, with sessions addressing propulsion, sustainable fuels, e-fuels, certification and the development of a decarbonized aerospace sector.

Representatives from Pratt & Whitney Canada, Strix Aero, SAF+, CertifHy and the German Aerospace Center are among the announced participants.

A National Hydrogen Refuelling Network

The event will also feature the Canadian Hydrogen Network project, presented by Alan Kneisz of Solum Energy. The project envisions a national network connecting hydrogen production, transportation and refuelling stations, particularly to support heavy-duty transportation.

When Motorsport Becomes a Hydrogen Innovation Lab

One of the highlights of the program will be the plenary session From Motorsport to Industry: Accelerating Hydrogen Innovation, featuring Pascal Vasselon, Vice President of Strategic Development at Toyota Gazoo Racing; Bernard Niclot, a recognized figure in motorsport innovation; and Dominic Fugère, General Manager of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières.

The discussion will explore how technologies tested under the extreme conditions of motorsport are now finding applications across other industrial sectors.
