Death of Tony Mignacca, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of SAIL Outdoors Inc. Français
LAVAL, QC, Feb. 9, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - It is with great sadness that the management and employees of SAIL Outdoors Inc. have learned of the death of SAIL's CEO and Chairman of the Board, Mr. Tony Mignacca.
Aged 56, Mr. Mignacca had been CEO and Chairman of the Board of SAIL Outdoors since 2005. He had also been CEO and Chairman of the Board of Ski-Mode Bernard Trottier Inc. from 1995 to 2008, during which period he acquired Baron Sport (in 2000) and SAIL Outdoors (in 2005). At the same time, he was involved in many consulting projects, including some for the Caisse de dépôt et de placement du Québec such as Motovan, The Hockey Company, Chapter's and Rona. From 1991 to 1994, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Canada's leading retailer of sporting goods and apparel, Sports Experts Inc. He held several positions within that company from 1986 to 1991. Mr. Mignacca was a member of the boards of directors of Transat, the Canadian Sportfishing Industry Association (CSIA) and La Vie en rose. He also sat on the boards of directors of the Conseil québécois du commerce de détail (CQCD) and of Motovan Corporation in the capacity of representative of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.
The entire SAIL team offers its sincerest condolences to Mr. Mignacca's family and friends.
Despite heavy hearts, the management and employees of SAIL will maintain the normal course of the company's operations, still taking inspiration from the vision that Tony Mignacca had for SAIL.
