Davie Signs Agreement with EBC, Marking Major Milestone in Lévis Shipyard Modernization
LÉVIS, QC, Oct. 20, 2026 /CNW/ -- Davie announces that it has reached an agreement with EBC, which will serve as general contractor for a strategic component of the next phase of modernization of Davie's Lévis shipyard.
This agreement marks a major milestone in the shipyard's transformation. With an estimated construction value of more than $500 million, it significantly expands the modernization efforts already underway.
The scope of work awarded to EBC includes the construction of four buildings with distinct functions: a steel fabrication shop, an assembly hall, an outfitting shop, and a building with a cafeteria, locker rooms, offices, and mechanical rooms. It also includes the development of a new launch platform, as well as major civil engineering and utility infrastructure work.
Together, these facilities will form a modern, integrated industrial system, facilitating the movement of steel, blocks, personnel, services, and ship sections throughout the shipyard. Given its scale, this project also represents a significant opportunity for the construction industry, specialized contractors, suppliers, and the local supply chain.
The work will be carried out in an active industrial environment. EBC will be responsible for site coordination, supervision, safety, and schedule integration while Davie continues its operations.
The agreement with EBC is part of a broader investment and modernization program already underway at the Lévis shipyard. The first phase includes, among other things, the renovation of Buildings 3 and 36. At the same time, Davie is continuing to modernize its maritime infrastructure.
Ultimately, these investments will enable Davie to increase its production capacity, modernize its operations, and execute major naval programs in Lévis. They will lay the foundation for the next generation of shipbuilding activities at the shipyard.
