LONGUEUIL, QC, June 16 /CNW Telbec/ - D-BOX Technologies Inc. (DBO.A on the TSX Venture Exchange), a leader in innovative motion technology announces its first ever breakthrough in the field of therapeutic care thru an agreement with Netherlands based corporation, Vita Care TMS.
As part of this agreement, D-BOX has created motion effects for ten short film and sold motion systems contributing to the launch of a new therapeutic simulation concept or "Therapeutic Motion Simulation(TM)" (TMS). By acting in perfect synchronicity with D-BOX Motion systems integrated into a mechanical support, this new application may contribute to better the lives of thousands of ill people by combining therapy and recreational activities. Simply stated, the objective is to bring the immersive experience to the patient versus the traditional model of bringing the patient to the experience. As an example and following a series of tests conducted since the end of 2009, it was demonstrated that these types of systems may allow autistic children to replicate the beneficial effect of horse riding at a fraction of the cost of a real life experience.
"This type of agreement fits perfectly well with our strategy to sell products which derive from our core motion technology to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) which should generate new additional revenues. Given image, sound and motion reinforce themselves in the human mind, the number of potential applications offered by our technology is just about unlimited. As demonstrated in the commercial theatre market, with the right partners, well positioned and perfectly understanding the challenges of their respective markets, we stand very optimistic in regards to our perspectives" stated Claude Mc Master, President and Chief Executive Officer of D-BOX Technologies Inc.
"We are very pleased by the results obtained so far by the applications of Therapeutic Motion Simulation(TM). With the expected aging of the population and increasing pressure on health costs, we believe that the technology developed and sharpened by D-BOX will allow us to cater to the needs of a huge and high-growth market" added Herbert Krakauer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Vita Care.
D-BOX Technologies designs and manufactures leading edge high-technology motion systems mainly suited to the needs of the entertainment industry. With its unique, patented technology, D-BOX Motion Code(TM), uses motion effects specifically programmed for each film, TV series or video game, which are sent to a motion generating system integrated within either a platform or a seat. The resulting motion is perfectly synchronized with all onscreen action, creating an unmatched realistic, immersive experience. To date, D-BOX Motion Code(TM) is available on more than 900 titles.
Accordingly, many prominent Hollywood studios have started embedding D-BOX Motion Code(TM) on selected high definition Blu-ray(TM) and theatrical releases. By reaching agreements with the leaders of both the motion picture and gaming industries, D-BOX's award-winning motion technology is gradually proving itself as a new global standard in the entertainment world.
