TORONTO, June 9 /CNW/ - Cymat Technologies Ltd. is pleased to announce the selection of Alusion for the auditorium in the Vanke Center in Shenzhen China. Cymat, in cooperation with their agent Daisye Company in Taiwan, are supplying more than 2,000 sq meters of Alusion to line the interior walls of the auditorium, at a sales price of approximately $250,000. This auditorium is part of a 60,000 sq meter mixed-use complex referred to as a "floating horizontal skyscraper", which is less than 35 meters high, but as long as the Empire State Building. Contained within the building are office spaces, apartments, a conference center, auditorium and hotel. It is the headquarters of the China Vanke Co. Ltd., the largest publicly traded property developer in China.
The building is the work of Steven Holl and partner Li Hu from Steven Holl Architects in New York City. The project has been awarded with a 2010 Honor Award by the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architecture. A large focus of the project is environmental sustainability using recycled and recyclable materials, aiming for LEED Platinum. In addition to aesthetics and sound absorption properties, Alusion contributes to attaining this LEED qualification.
"Cymat recognizes the importance of having its Alusion products certified for LEED as it focuses on growing its interior and exterior architecture products" said Tim Hardman, President of Cymat. He added, "This will ensure Alusion's future selection into projects with progressive architects and builders around the world."
