TORONTO, Sept. 4, 2015 /CNW/ - On July 15, 2015 the Crown withdrew all of the charges against Dr. Oluleke Badmos. This follows an expert report concluding that the medical care provided by Dr. Badmos was entirely appropriate and that the allegations likely arose from an unfortunate misapprehension of the care received.
Dr. Badmos, a practicing physician for over 29 years is a well-respected obstetrician gynecologist in Toronto.
"This has been a very difficult time for my patients, the Toronto East General Hospital, my colleagues, staff and family," said Dr. Badmos. "I am very pleased that the charges have been completely withdrawn and I can fully resume my practice and my role at Toronto East General Hospital."
Dr. Badmos maintains a practice in the Upper Beaches in Toronto and also has full privileges at Toronto East General Hospital.
Dr. Badmos' counsel, Michael Rosenberg of McCarthy Tétrault LLP, welcomed the withdrawal of all charges. "Dr. Badmos is pleased that the Crown reviewed the evidence in this matter and determined that there was no basis to proceed", said Mr. Rosenberg.
