Contac's World Class Print Division awarded G7 Master Printer Certification

VANCOUVER, Nov. 5 /CNW/ - Contac Services Inc., Canada's largest direct marketing, printing and fulfilment company, is pleased to announce the prestigious achievement of being awarded G7 Master Printer Certification through IDEAlliance. Becoming a G7 Master Printer is the pinnacle of ensuring dedication to quality, consistency and colour management.

The print division at Contac has received specialized training to adopt G7 methodologies, producing a press sheet that is consistent in colour from proof to press.  With the new certification, the technology, standards and process controls required to produce high-quality printing has resulted in a decrease in paper waste, lowered the environmental impact and at the same time, improved customer satisfaction.

This qualification marks Contac's ability to provide the highest quality printed product available, anywhere in the world, on demand, from any of its nationwide state of the art facilities. Contac's print services are also integrated with its Procurement Platform, an online single-source solution to seamlessly order all printed and marketing material from one central location.

About G7 Certification

G7 is a process based on principles of digital imaging, spectrophotometry, and computer-to-plate (CTP) technologies. The G7 process control methodology was developed by IDEAlliance and it utilizes the existing ISO 12647 Standards (International Organization for Standardization for sheet-fed offset and web-offset heat-set) as the basis for exceptional printing. The goal is to specify a standard calibration process that will help printers reliably achieve a close "visual match" from proof to press. G7 breaks from traditional methods by focusing on colorimetric data for gray balance in the mid-tones rather than on densitometry, i.e. dot gain, for each color. G7 is named for its gray scale calibration technique and the 7 ISO ink colors it requires and is a trademark of IDEAlliance.
