BOMA Honours Conestoga Mall with Prestigious National Industry Award
WATERLOO, ON, Oct. 25, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Conestoga Mall, a premier regional shopping centre serving Waterloo region, has won a coveted Canadian Industry Award from the Building Owners Association of Canada (BOMA). BOMA honoured the mall with its highest national recognition in the Shopping Centre category: The Outstanding Building of the Year Award (TOBY), which recognizes quality in building and excellence in building management.
The announcement came on October 3, at BOMA's 2013 National Awards Gala held in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Earlier this year, Conestoga Mall had received a TOBY award at the annual BOMA Toronto Celebration of Excellence Dinner. As a winner, the mall was invited to enter the National Awards.
During the competition, all facets of a building's operations are thoroughly evaluated. Entries are judged on criteria such as community involvement, excellence in management, and environmental and sustainability management.
"We are honoured and proud that the Operations Team, led by Craig Walsh, has been acknowledged for their efforts. We pride ourselves on providing a premier shopping experience that includes service excellence for both our shoppers and retailers and a commitment to improve our overall impact on the environment in the areas of energy consumption, water management, greenhouse emissions and waste management." says Sandra Stone, General Manager at Conestoga Mall.
