Providing practical solutions for an easier recovery from concussions.
NANAIMO, BC, April 24, 2012 /CNW/ - In 2007, author Colleen Butler was T-boned by a 5 ton industrial truck and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Surprised at the lack of knowledge and treatment for a concussion, she became vigilant on her recovery. Her extensive knowledge led her to help others who had also suffered brain injury and, with the encouragement of those whom she had assisted, Colleen has created a practical workbook of solutions and tools entitled, 'Concussion Recovery: Rebuilding the Injured Brain.'
"It was stunning to discover that most of what we know about the brain has been within the last 10 years," the author stated. "I decided that my struggle does not need to be duplicated and I made it my mission to share what I have learned."
'Concussion Recovery, Rebuilding the Injured Brain' is a road map for recovery, helping the concussed rebuild their lives, recover more quickly, with less stress and frustration. Its unique advantage is that it considers the recovery journey from all aspects and is written from the inside out, with depth and understanding.
An injury to the brain affects every aspect of our lives. "When we have a concussion, we are defragging and rebuilding our computer," said Colleen. The first in a series, 'Concussion Recovery: Rebuilding the Injured Brain' discusses everything from nutrition, finances, sex to music, personal boundaries and alternative healing options.
