COLLINGWOOD, ON, April 17, 2013 /CNW/ - An international collaboration agreement was signed today between the Greenland Group (Collingwood, ON) and Philippine Watershed Management Coalition (http://www.philwatershed.net).
The agreement will enable Greenland to develop a Watershed Management Decision Support System for use in South-East Asia; participate on national projects of mutual benefit; and, further develop the company's information technology partnerships with its clients and business affiliates in Canada and United States. Ultimately, this Philippine's alliance will also provide Greenland and its North American-based partners access to other Pacific-Rim countries and to provide niche environmental business services on a fee-for-service basis.
The Philippine Watershed Management Coalition was formed in 1988 and includes Philippine-based private and public sector organizations. The Coalition has gained international recognition by forging new and also strengthening national partnership teams for watershed management in The Republic of The Philippines. The Coalition now envisions being a strong and responsive body of individuals and groups working for the protection and rehabilitation of all watersheds across the country. The mission of the Coalition is to: 1) serve as a venue for continuing education; 2) serve as a platform for discussing and responding to watershed issues; 3) advocate responsive policies; and, 4) promote participatory action research for effective management of watersheds.
