TORONTO, Dec. 15, 2016 /CNW/ - CNW is rolling out display options that better showcase the multimedia assets accompanying news release content on newswire.ca.
In 2016, CNW measured a 22.9% increase over last year in the number of multimedia assets crossing its newswire. This uptick in image and video volume is in part to meet growing demand from media for quality visual content to run with news stories, but also to better engage online audiences. CNW data also shows that news releases with photos, videos, maps, graphs, infographics, logos or artwork receive up to 40% more views on its website than text-only releases.
"These new display options allow our clients to tell their story in the way they would like to tell them, allowing them to choose the format that best presents the information as a whole," says Tim Griffin, CNW's VP of client success. "The best part is we will be adding additional options next year."
The new display options are available to CNW clients through the Online Member Centre. Users can choose from the standard Carousel or new Gallery display options, effective today. For CNW clients not using the Online Member Centre, the default display option will continue to be Carousel, as it ranked highest in focus group testing.
Additional display options, including one that specializes in infographics, are in the beta testing stage and will be released in early 2017.
