OTTAWA, June 3, 2014 /CNW/ - CloudMask today announced a specialized version of its awarded innovative data masking technology focusing on the Governments' requirements. The new offering brings security, performance and scalability of the enterprise-class, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) CloudMask solution to fulfill the requirements of Governments. CloudMask understands that Governments have special needs and that any loss of confidentiality in Government affairs can have far reaching consequences.
CloudMask solution, the winner of the Canadian Innovation Commercialization Program (CICP),has been evaluated by the Canadian Federal Government for integration with their security infrastructure. CloudMask is currently going through Common Criteria Certification to meet the security certification required to operate with Governments in 26 Countries.
CloudMask advanced masking technology neutralizes the risks of data breaches by enabling users to apply end-to-end (E2E) encryption and tokenization to their data. This occurs at the moment of creation and data remains protected throughout its lifecycle. This is a very different approach from existing solutions that encrypt data while it is in transit and/or at-storage, while leaving it exposed during server processing.
CloudMask does not require VPN, encryption gateway, nor any other hardware encryption devices. Instead, data protection starts at the users' desktops or at any other devices they happen to use. Accordingly, the not only does CloudMask protect sensitive data in the public cloud, it also elevates the security of data inside the private network to mitigate insider threats and unauthorized access since only authorized users can see data. CloudMask deployment relies on user digital certificates to apply FIPS-140 military grade encryption algorithms thereby providing strong, credible and proven security.
CloudMask for Government supports myKey - Entrust based Canadian Federal Government PKI - to enable secure multi-jurisdiction collaboration. The Canadian Government can continue to use its own preferred public key infrastructure (PKI) and CloudMask will use the Government's PKI to implement CloudMask security.
"We are delighted to unveil CloudMask for Government, and we are excited that all levels of Government will now have enhanced data protection that fulfills their unique needs." said Wael Aggan, CEO, CloudMask Corp. "Government works in hybrid-cloud environment with complex needs that, in many cases, are specific to them. CloudMask delivers solutions that meet stringent Government regulations and maintain data sovereignty irrespective of where it resides. By relying on user-based certificates, Governments can ensure a higher degree of authentication and confidentiality, and finer need-to-know controls"
About CloudMask
CloudMask ensures the privacy of user data by applying encryption methods at the end-user device without requiring any changes to the application (e.g. SalesForce, MS Office 365, Google Drive etc.). Elimination of any need for special Gateways or VPN simplifies the deployment process since absolutely no changes are required to the users' network or to applications being protected.
CloudMask employs a "Zero Trust" model. Data confidentiality is ensured against malicious insiders and perimeter breaches, both on-premise and on the cloud. As a result, customers can meet data sovereignty requirements, ensure data privacy, and mitigate insider threats while ensuring full functionality of their applications.
