LA SARRE, QC, July 31, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
The Government of Canada has committed to form close partnerships with Quebec businesses to help them innovate, become more productive and competitive, and to revitalize local economies, create good jobs and improve people's lives.
Roberge et fils, Radiateur J.M.T. Ltd., Les Aciers J.P. Inc., L'Atelier de l'Ébénisterie La Varlope 2009, La Fraisonnée Inc. and MC Industriel will receive Government of Canada funding to increase production capacity, purchase strategic equipment and continue to grow. Their respective projects should generate more than $4.7 million in total investments and create 23 jobs in the region.
Stéphane Lauzon, Member of Parliament for Argenteuil–La Petite-Nation and Parliamentary Secretary for Sport and Persons with Disabilities, announced $1,488,922 in repayable contributions on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED.
Granted under CED's Quebec Economic Development Program, the funding will help recipient firms achieve their growth targets.

For more than 100 years, Roberge et fils has operated a plant that today produces steel doors, PVC windows, and PVC/aluminum hybrid windows. It sells its products through distributors in Quebec and northern Ontario and directly to consumers through its stores in Gatineau, Quebec, and Nepean, Ontario.
The project will help it enhance performance, increase productivity and improve output capacity, in particular by acquiring new equipment and expanding plant facilities.
The firm used the CED funding to expand its facility and acquire and install a router, drills, a paint chamber, conveyors and saws. |

Since 1985, Radiateur J.M.T. Ltd. has manufactured and repaired cooling systems for businesses with industrial machinery. To offer a new product line, in 2016 it acquired a bigger building with a shop for manufacturing and machining cylinders.
The project will expand operations and increase productivity by acquiring and installing new equipment to manufacture cooling systems and machining parts.
The firm will use the CED funding to acquire a press, a numerical control lathe, a knurling machine, a cutting table, a paint chamber, a 3D scanner, and related accessories.
The project is expected to create 16 jobs. |

| Repayable contribution of $305,000 out of a total investment of $798,119
Founded in 1991, Les Aciers J.P. Inc. manufactures niche products to meet the unique needs of big mining and forestry clients.
The company produces ore chutes, conveyors, mixing tanks and unloading stations for the mining sector, and mobile rotary log debarkers, biomass treatment plants, rake and log conveyors, immersion pools and rotary unscrabblers for the logging sector.
The project will improve the firm's performance by increasing productivity and optimizing its production capacity, particularly for structural steel technology. It will also expand the firm's plant and add equipment for new manufacturing processes.
The CED funding will help the firm install new equipment and buy a compressor and an overhead crane. It will also cover part of the plant expansion costs.

| L'Atelier de l'Ébénisterie La Varlope 2009 |
Repayable contribution of $60,000 out of a total investment of $160,000
Founded in 1986, L'Atelier de l'Ébénisterie La Varlope 2009 makes kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, home furniture, stairs, steps, risers and decorative beams.
The project will improve the company's performance and productivity by acquiring and setting up a centre for digital machining, accessories and tooling.
The firm will use the CED funding to buy and install the new equipment.
The project is expected to create one job. |
| MC Industriel |
Repayable contribution of $56,500 out of a total investment of $207,900
Founded in 2005, MC Industriel designs and manufactures a range of metal and industrial products (conveyor chains, catwalks, stairs, safety shields, etc.).
MC Industriel's key clients are large logging and mining companies, but the firm is also a welding and machining subcontractor for steel product manufacturers.
It used the CED funding to buy production equipment such as a digital press and related accessories.
This upgrading project is expected to create two jobs. |

A family business founded in 1989, La Fraisonnée Inc. makes 10 flavours of fruit spread and 4 types of dark chocolate spread marketed under the Choco Decadent brand. Its products are sold in more than 400 retail outlets including major grocery and supermarket chains.
The project will help this agri-processing firm increase productivity and expand operations. Specifically, La Fraisonnée will buy new production equipment and renovate its plant.
The firm will use the CED funding to buy and install production equipment and upgrade its plant layout to meet new food safety standards.
The project is expected to create two jobs. |
