OTTAWA, April 3, 2012 /CNW/ - On April 22, Ontario Ombudsman André Marin will present his Office's latest findings chronicled in the December 2011 report "Oversight Undermined". Mr. Marin, who will receive the Ontario Bar Association Award for Distinguished Service on April 26th, will discuss the province's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and how the government has failed to adequately support it in providing strong oversight of police. In 2011, Mr. Marin appeared in a segment of the national investigative journalism program W5, which examined whether the SIU was a 'toothless tiger'.
