LOS ANGELES, June 4, 2013 /CNW/ - After three years of laughs, cheers and beers, "BeerProv," one of Canada's most uniquely hilarious live comedy shows, is bound for the U.S. Creator, executive producer and comedian host Jim Robinson is announcing "BeerProv" will make its American debut this summer in New York City.
"I started BeerProv because it's the kind of comedy I love doing and Toronto didn't have anything like it," Robinson said. "All I've ever wanted to do is make people laugh, and I'm excited to have the opportunity to bring BeerProv to New York City."
Darryl Pring, whose been nominated for two Canadian Comedy Awards, said, "Jim Robinson is one of a kind. His razor sharp wit and obvious talents are second to none. He's got the rare gift of both producing and hosting, and New York audiences can look forward to his extraordinary show."
The monthly show is produced at Toronto's renowned Comedy Bar. Its three-year anniversary show is June 28. "BeerProv" is a short form improv competition where a rotating cast of 12 performers participate in classic imrov games for the chance to be crowned the coveted BeerProv Champion.

While hosting, Robinson prods audience members, who may enjoy the show with their own select beer beverage, for suggestions. Comedians implement them into live improv games.
"He's an extremely established performer and host," says actor Ely Henry (Twisted, Suburgatory). "He keeps the show moving with lightning sharp wit and terrifically timed quips."
Robinson conceptualized and produced "BeerProv" after a chance meeting with Comedy Bar owner Gary Rideout Jr., who saw potential in the break out show. It debuted in the spring of 2010.
"It didn't take long for it to build a large, dedicated audience and attract the attention Canada's many talented improv comedians," said Ned Petrie, a Canadian Comedy Award Nominee. "And now BeerProv stands as one of Toronto's signature live comedy shows. This is nearly entirely due to the talent and dedication of Jim Robinson."
