MONTRÉAL, Feb. 27, 2019 /CNW/ - On February 22, 2019, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) held a Change of Command Ceremony at the Montreal Metropolitan District (MMD) in the Palais des congrès de Montréal. The goal of this ceremony was to mark the entry into function of the incoming District Director, Mrs. Anne-Marie Labalette. On the same occasion, CSC thanked nine of its employees for their 20 years of service at the Montreal Metropolitan District.
This ceremony was presided by Mrs. Alessandria Page, Regional Deputy Commissioner for the Quebec Region, and is part of the Correctional Service Canada's will to honor its traditions and to recognize the roles and responsibilities that the new leader accepts to assume. It represents the symbolic passing of responsibility, authority, and accountability from one correctional leader to another.
The Change of Command Ceremony is an important tradition for CSC. It reaffirms the incoming leader's pledge to support CSC's mission and contribute to the safety and security of the public, employees and offenders.
