Key local stakeholders have long been asking for concrete, sustainable measures to improve community and recreational infrastructure. The Government of Canada is proud to invest in projects which, like the project of the Municipality of Chambord, contribute to the strength and vitality of all regions in the country.

The Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that the Corporation de développement de Chambord Inc. would receive $433,734 in financial assistance, in the form of a non-repayable contribution, to restore the Chambord municipal wharf.

Founded in 1993, the Corporation de développement de Chambord is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the industrial, commercial, touristic, economic, cultural and community development of the Municipality of Chambord.

Funding awarded under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP150) will be used to upgrade the wharf, including by replacing open concrete beams and restoring the launch ramp. The project also involves upgrading the sanitary block and installing street furnishings.
