CASA Elects Zachary Dayler as New National Director

OTTAWA, June 23 /CNW Telbec/ - During its 2010 Policy and Strategy Meeting, the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations elected Zachary Dayler as its new National Director.

"I am incredibly excited to work with Canada's best and brightest student leaders. I know that everyone within the organization is passionate and eager to work towards improving the post-secondary education system in Canada," said Zach Dayler, National Director-elect of the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations. "We have a great deal of work to do, but I am more than confident that CASA will achieve the goal of a high quality, affordable, accessible, and innovative post-secondary education system in Canada."

Dayler has been heavily involved in student leadership serving as an executive representative and president of the Acadia University Students' Union, and later as the interim Executive Director for the Halifax Student Alliance. Throughout both his student government and academic experiences Dayler has focused on public participation and engagement. He is passionate about the student experience and the importance of education and training.

"Over the course of the last 15 years, CASA has become a thought leader on post-secondary education policy in this country. By providing governments, stakeholders, and the public with realistic solutions to the challenges that we face we have achieved great wins for students and the post-secondary sector," said Tina Robichaud, outgoing interim National Director and Chair of CASA. "We are pleased to welcome Zach to the team and we look forward to the many successes he will help achieve for students."

Dayler will assume his position on July 1st, 2010 at the CASA head office in Ottawa, Ontario.

The Canadian Alliance of Student Associations (CASA) is a non-partisan, not-for-profit national student organization composed of 25 student associations representing over 315,000 students from coast to coast.
