Local company makes transition from entrepreneurial to exponential
LONDON, ON, Feb. 21, 2012 /CNW/ - Thanks to a dedication to implementing leading business practices, a push to hire only the best and a belief that the workplace should always be inspiring and never boring, London's own CarProof Vehicle History Reports, Canada's leading provider of the most comprehensive used vehicle history report, was announced today as a 2011 winner of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies program.
Since 2000, CarProof has been working to revolutionize the used car industry by providing Canadians with the ability to buy and sell cars with full transparency, confidence and peace of mind. From its office in downtown London, the company has grown exponentially over the past 12 years, making the transition from its truly entrepreneurial beginnings to a company that witnessed 1,017 per cent growth over the past five years.
The Best Managed award comes close on the heels of two other big wins for the company. CarProof was given Deloitte's 2011 Technology Fast 500TM and Fast 50 TM Awards, making the company one of a select few to receive all three awards in the same year. Locally, CarProof is also one of four finalists for the London Chamber of Commerce's Large Business of Year award, a title that will be announced in mid-March.
These recent achievements are a reflection of the balanced expansion the company is currently experiencing, both in terms of technology and its management structure. The latest award reaffirms the company's push to implement new, robust human resource programs and a focus on defining CarProof's core purpose and future goals.
"We are truly honoured to be recognized as one of Canada's 50 Best, and proud to be on this extremely prestigious list of companies," shared Paul Antony, president and CEO of CarProof. "CarProof was founded in and our home continues to be London, and we couldn't be more thrilled that our recognition brings even more profile to our community. We have some wonderful businesses based here that are successful by any definition, and CarProof is pleased to be among them."
Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies continues to be the mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $10 million. Every year since the launch of the program in 1993, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies have competed for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates their management skills and practices.
"We believe that there are three vital building blocks to sustainable growth: strategy, capability, and commitment; CarProof has demonstrated it is a model of success in all three areas and is duly recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed," explained John Hughes, partner, Private Company Services group with Deloitte, a national sponsor of the Best Managed program.
