Carlson Announces New Build Radisson Hotel at Calgary International Airport

<p><span class="xn-location">MINNEAPOLIS</span> and <span class="xn-location">CALGARY</span>, <span class="xn-chron">Oct. 28</span> /CNW/ -- Carlson, a privately held, global hospitality and travel company, today announced plans for a new 120-room Radisson Hotel to be built two miles from <span class="xn-location">Calgary</span> International Airport. Construction on the <span class="xn-money">USD 19 million</span> Radisson Hotel & Conference Center <span class="xn-location">Calgary</span> Airport East will begin in <span class="xn-chron">March 2011</span> with an expected opening date of <span class="xn-chron">March 2012</span>.</p>

"Adding another airport location to our growing portfolio is aligned with plans to expand Radisson as a vibrant, contemporary and engaging brand in key city, resort and airport locations globally."</p>

<p>Carlson announced its Ambition 2015 growth strategy earlier this year. The strategy is fueled by an investment program of up to <span class="xn-money">USD 1.5 billion</span> focused on positioning Radisson as a powerful, globally consistent first-class brand.</p>

<p>The Radisson <span class="xn-location">Calgary</span> Airport East will feature a day spa, indoor pool and fitness center. The bar and restaurant will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Meeting facilities will include five banquet rooms totaling 13,500 square feet that can accommodate up to 600 people.</p>
