TORONTO, Jan. 31, 2014 /CNW/ - Capital International Asset Management (Canada), Inc., part of Capital Group, announced modifications to Capital International - U.S. Equity (the "Fund") following approval from securityholders at a meeting held on January 7, 2014. The modifications, which are effective January 31, 2014, include:
- A change to the Fund's investment objective. The new investment objective is long-term growth of capital and income through investments primarily in common stocks of U.S. issuers. Related to this change, the Fund's investment strategies will also change.
- The merger of a private fund, Capital Group Canadian Private Trusts - U.S. Equity, into the Fund.
Related to these modifications, the subadvisor is changing from Capital Guardian Trust Company to another Capital Group affiliate, Capital Research and Management Company, effective January 31, 2014. This includes changes to the Fund's portfolio management team.
