The location is Bermuda's first all-new resort built in nearly four decades and is an idyllic getaway on 200 acres of the most magnificent waterfront in Bermuda.
Conference excitement is building in Bermuda as Capital G looks forward to hosting U.S. media mogul Steve Forbes as the conference keynote speaker.
Mr. Forbes, renowned internationally as an economic prognosticator, will share his unique insights on the role of "Capitalism in the global economic recovery." Also, Mr. Forbes will be the special guest at a 'by invitation only' VIP Dinner hosted by exclusive sponsor The Bermuda Department of Tourism.
On conference day, April 13, registered delegates will have access to breakout sessions that examine the current threats to wealth growth and preservation, assess the recovering global capital markets and speak to the issues of business and estate planning and transferring Bermuda wealth to US beneficiaries. The Agenda also incorporates a discussion of writing philanthropy into today's estate strategy. An esteemed faculty representing local legal, accounting, investment and estate firms has been assembled to deliver the Agenda of conference sessions.
Barbara Tannock, CFA, SVP, Head of Capital G Private Banking said: "With Mr. Forbes as keynote speaker, it brings an interesting dynamic to the conversation -- the same forces that were blamed for the collapse of global markets are being relied on to provide recovery." She goes on to note, "His delivery promises to be very thought provoking, certainly relevant and one from which our clients and partners will draw great value. We take seriously our positioning as an integrated wealth management innovator and a facilitator of dialogue on the issues impacting Bermuda's private clients. Mr. Forbes' acceptance of our invitation is true testament to that."
Dr. Lawrence Chimerine, an economic consultant for 25 years, will be the guest speaker for the Conference Luncheon at the Tucker's Point Golf Club. Dr. Chimerine has served on numerous governmental advisory boards, including the House of Representatives Task Force on International Competitiveness, the Census Advisory Committee, and the Economic Policy Board of the Department of Commerce.
"The private wealth landscape in Bermuda is currently in a state of flux arising from the substantial structural and market change and shifts in our own economic infrastructure brought about by the credit crisis and subsequent recession," Ms. Tannock said. "The Speakers at this Conference will address both the challenges and the opportunities presented in such an environment, while relating the global challenges to the local landscape. We are really looking forward to it."
Bermuda and international companies across the private wealth spectrum have endorsed this event with confirmed sponsors including: The Bermuda Ministry of Finance, The Bermuda Department of Tourism, The Colonial Group, KPMG, Trilogy Global Advisors, Tetrem Capital Management Ltd., FORS Ltd., Franklin Templeton Investments, MFS Investment Management, Rego Sotheby's International Realty and Electronic Services Ltd.
