OTTAWA, Feb. 8, 2018 /CNW/ - CannaRoyalty Corp. (CSE: CRZ) (OTCQX: CNNRF) ("CannaRoyalty" or the "Company"), an active investor and operator in the legal cannabis industry, commented on Canadian Securities Administrators ("CSA") Staff Notice 51-352 (Revised), Issuers with U.S. Marijuana-Related Activities (the "Notice").
"The Notice clarifies the regulatory landscape for investors and is favourable for issuers with U.S. cannabis assets," said Marc Lustig, CEO of CannaRoyalty. "CannaRoyalty has taken a transparent and forthright approach since its public launch. Our view remains that the U.S. federal government does not intend to meaningfully alter the way that existing cannabis business is conducted within legal U.S. states and we applaud the disclosure-forward approach reiterated by the CSA today."
The Notice reinforces individual exchanges' right to determine the eligibility of individual issuers to list based on those exchanges' listing requirements. The CSA also outlined several specific disclosure expectations for issuers with U.S. marijuana-related activities. The Canadian Securities Exchange has repeatedly expressed support for issuers with U.S. cannabis assets and reinforced its support in response to the Notice.
