TORONTO, Dec. 14, 2018 /CNW/ - Cannamerx, the fully automated international auction platform for wholesale cannabis, cannabis products, and genetics is pleased to announce that it has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with dicentra (dba as dicentra Cannabis Consulting in the cannabis industry), one of Canada's leading professional consulting firms specializing in safety, quality and compliance for all product categories in the life sciences, cannabis and food industries.
Under the terms of this strategic partnership, dicentra will assist Cannamerx participants in complying with all Canadian and international regulatory requirements related to the trade of cannabis, cannabis products, cannabis genetics, as well as hemp and hemp-derived cannabinoids. Cannamerx will rely on dicentra for regulatory compliance advice, and refer its participants to dicentra in case they require consulting services related to compliance with cannabis and hemp regulations in Canada, and elsewhere.
"As a technology firm entering such a complex, highly regulated market, we needed a regulatory consulting firm we could trust, and – most importantly – would feel comfortable referring our clients to," said Dietwald Claus, CEO of Cannamerx. "We have been looking for a consulting firm that meets our expectations for some time, and dicentra impressed us from the start. Their broad experience dealing with complex regulatory issues, including cannabis, is exceptional. They are better prepared than most to help our participants adapt to the ever changing regulatory system of this industry as it evolves in the coming years. They fully meet our standard of integrity, quality of service, and fair dealing with clients and business partners."
Peter Wojewnik, VP of Business Development at dicentra, added that "In just one year, Cannamerx has established itself as a market leader and trusted name in the Canadian cannabis industry. They have successfully developed a unique business model that is changing the way cannabis is traded at the commodity level in Canada. We are proud to be working with the Cannamerx team to help the cannabis industry become a mature, sophisticated and diversified industry. We see this partnership as a great benefit to our clients and all industry stakeholders."
Both companies emphasize that this strategic alliance does not involve any kind of payment between dicentra and Cannamerx. Furthermore, Cannamerx does not have any financial stake in dicentra, nor does dicentra have any financial stake in Cannamerx. This is in line with Cannamerx's standing policy to never accept or pay referral fees from or to any of its partners, or to have any kind of financial stake in any cannabis related company or allow any cannabis related company to have any kind of financial stake in Cannamerx.
