Offer extended to Canadians looking to retrain after downsizing
TORONTO, Jan. 30, 2015 /CNW/ - canfitpro (Canadian Fitness Professionals Inc.) is stepping forward to offer former Target Canada employees, and others who have been recently laid off, a discount on two of its most popular fitness certifications. The 17,000 Target Canada employees who recently lost their jobs are invited to enroll for the Personal Training Specialist or Fitness Instructor Speciallist training at 25 per cent off until March 31, 2015.
"This is one of the biggest lay offs we've seen in a while and we want to offer people a chance to update their training and connect with the growing fitness industry. We see this as a chance to help people discover a new career path, and by extension learn to improve their own health and wellness and that of their families and communities. This offer makes canfitpro's accessible and attainable certifications even more affordable," said Rod MacDonald, vice president of canfitpro.
Fitness instructors and personal trainers can make between $15 and $50 per class/client/hour. They can choose to work full-time or part-time in the fitness industry either as an employee or an independent contractor. In Canada, the fitness industry currently generates $2.6 billion in revenue and 5.7 million Canadians are members of a fitness club or facility.
As part of the training, participants learn at their own pace as they prepare for a live course and exam experience with a member of canfitpro's team of PRO TRAINERS across Canada.
