TORONTO, March 20, 2015 /CNW/ - The Canada BIM Council (CanBIM) announced today the creation of The First Annual National CanBIM Awards to coincide with the organization's Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the fall of 2015, to be held in Calgary.
The CanBIM Awards are the first of their kind in Canada, and will shine a light on the many great innovators and progressive leaders in the Canadian Building Information Modelling (BIM) space. The CanBIM Awards also supplement CanBIM's recent certification and accreditation program, and bolsters the council's position as the leader and voice in the development of BIM in Canada.
"The premise behind the annual CanBIM Awards is not just the recognition of excellence but a focal point for those most interested and involved with BIM enabled technologies within our design, construction and owner community," said Allan Partridge, CanBIM President. "The awards will also serve the business community to help benchmark the industry in a fun and engaging manner, discover new trends and opportunities to learn from our peers across Canada. Importantly we see it as an opportunity to enhance the uptake of BIM in Canada."
The First Annual National CanBIM Awards will take place in Calgary on Sept. 30, 2015, as part of CanBIM's AGM followed by a CanBIM Regional Session on Oct. 1. The AGM and the Regional Session will be held at the Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire. CanBIM is developing the framework and forming a committee to support the delivery of an Annual BIM Awards Ceremony. An update on the Awards will be delivered at the upcoming CanBIM Regional Session in Toronto on June 10-11, 2015, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
