ACTON, ON, June 13, 2017 /CNW/ - This year marks a change in style for Superior Glove at the American Society of Safety Engineer (ASSE) conference and expo, happening June 19 to 22 at the Denver Convention Center in Colorado.
Rather than focusing solely on product innovations, Superior will also be educating audiences about workplace safety in their presentation "The Top Five Facts You Need to Know to be Safer at Work."
In 2015, hand injuries were the second most common workplace injury, accounting for nearly 1 in 10 emergency room visits according the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
"We wanted to bring something different to Safety 2017," said presenter Matt Burtney. "Every booth is talking products. We're focusing on education and making sure that people are leaving work safe at the end of the day."
First showcased at Partners in Prevention health and safety conference in Toronto, Canada, the presentation looks at risks in the workplace, opportunities for improvement and actionable steps to keep workers safe.
Sticking closely to their list format for the presentation, Superior's Marketing Manager, Julie McFater gave the Top Five Reasons to Visit their Booth (#1125):
Over 4,400 occupational health and safety professionals will be attending ASSE's Safety 2017 conference and expo, which will make it the most-attended event in the Society's 106-year history, according to organizers.
ASSE is about staying relevant in the safety world. With the constant changes to regulations, safety professionals need to be experts in ergonomics, risk management and many other safety-related jobs.
