OTTAWA, June 25, 2012 /CNW/ - The Canadian Dermatology Association announces its Partnership with iMD Health Canada.
iMD Health Canada is a leading technology innovator providing an interactive, educational approach to the patient experience. iMD's patient education and professional knowledge transfer system is placed inside the examination rooms of Dermatologists, Physicians, Pharmacists, GIs, Rheumatologists, diabetes educators and nurses to provide the latest health information to patients "At the Point of Care" ®.
"We are excited to be partnering with iMD Health Canada to help educate Canadians about dermatology and dermatologic conditions, while also putting valuable resources into the hands of Dermatologists, Physicians and other medical professionals" says Dr. Denise Wexler President, Canadian Dermatology Association.
This partnership will enable the CDA and iMD to:
- dispel myths and misconceptions about common dermatologic conditions
- provide information on the treatment and management of dermatologic conditions
- inform Canadians about the dangers of excessive exposure to ultra-violet radiation
- provide information about free public skin cancer screenings available across the country, as well as how to conduct skin cancer self-examinations at home
- provide a searchable database for Canadians to access in order to look for skin products that are recognized by the CDA
"We are very excited about our new strategic partnership with the CDA that brings needed patient and professional resources to our growing network. Our network currently educates over 6,000,000 patients annually across a number of different conditions," says Kevin Delano, President and CEO of iMD Health Canada. "We look forward to working with the CDA and industry to help educate Canadians about the treatment and management of common dermatologic conditions."
The Canadian Dermatology Association, founded in 1925, represents Canadian dermatologists. The association provides easy access to the largest, most reliable source of medical knowledge on dermatology. CDA exists to advance the science and art of medicine and surgery related to the care of the skin, hair and nails; provide continuing professional development for its members; support and advance patient care; provide public education on sun protection and other aspects of skin health; and promote a lifetime of healthier skin, hair and nails. By doing so, CDA informs and empowers both medical professionals and the Canadian public.
