TORONTO, Feb. 27, 2019 /CNW/ - Distributel Communications Limited commends the federal government and the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) for proposing a consumer-focused policy direction to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC.)

"Consumers will win when their interests are prioritized in policy considerations."
ISED has issued a proposed policy direction to the CRTC aimed at promoting competition, affordability, consumer interests, and innovation. The policy direction will provide Canadian consumers with the choice in telecommunications service options that they deserve.
"Achieving a truly competitive telecommunications marketplace is the best way to ensure that Canadians have access to the benefits of consumer choice as well as innovative and differentiated services that not only meet, but respond to their needs," said Mr. Stein.
